The Dr. Duino Pioneer comes equipped with an Arduino Uno Compatible board, which is plugged in underneath the Pioneer board you see here.
Utilizing just 6 of the most common electronic components found everywhere on the planet, the pioneer can do some really impressive projects.
As an avid maker himself, Guido spoke with numerous hobbyists, students, makers, and other engineers to learn what they typically want to learn when getting started with Arduino.
As a result, he added things like a light-dependent resistor (LDR), a piezo buzzer, and a stick of eight WS2812B tricolor LEDs (commonly known as “NeoPixels” because that’s what the folks at Adafruit call them).
In addition to connectors into which you can plug your own sensors, actuators, and I2C peripherals, you can also connect an ultrasonic distance-measuring sensor that’s provided with the Dr. Duino Pioneer but isn’t shown in the above image.
You'll want to note that the purple board seen attached to the pioneer is part of what Guido refers to as his expansion pack and is sold separately.
